Revalidation Workshop at Taunton Library

CILIP SWMN are running revalidation workshops to highlight the new revalidation process. The next workshop will be held in the Meeting Room at Taunton Public Library, on Monday 5th October 2015 from 13.15pm - 16.30pm (for a 13.30pm start).

CILIP have recently overhauled the revalidation process and we’d like to highlight the quicker, straightforward online process that CILIP members are expected to undertake every twelve months. Revalidation is now an online process using CILIP’s VLE. The session is aimed at people undertaking revalidation for the first time who are perhaps unsure about the new process or who haven’t used a VLE or online submission tool before.

The outline for the workshop will be: an introduction to the new revalidation process and the VLE and the rest of the time will be self-paced, where people can log their CPD (20 hours over the last twelve months), ask questions and get writing their statements (it’s only 250 words!). We will be providing further details about what you need to prepare in advance so attendees can make the most of the time and most importantly, submit.

For this event we encourage you to bring your own device. Please plan to bring a laptop, or tablet to be able to log-on to the CILIP VLE. * The small pool of laptops and tablets is no longer available to book*. Having access to laptop or device will ensure you can make good use of the afternoon. You will also need to your CILIP login details and password, so bring those with you.

The ideal outcome would be people submitting online before they leave. The submission will then be distributed by CILIP to be assessed and you will find out at a later date if your submission has been accepted.

This event is free of charge. There will be no refreshments provided. Attendees will be encouraged to take a break and there is a café in the library, just next to the meeting room. We are also informed that there are plenty of coffee shops and cafes within easy walking distance of the library if anyone needs lunch on the way.

There is no parking at the library but there is the Orchard multi-storey car park above the library (TA1 4ED). There are also 2 park and ride services, one is near the M5 (Taunton Gateway, Ruishton, Taunton, TA3 5LU) and the other on the west side of town (Silk Mills, Silk Mills Road, Taunton, TA1 5AA). It takes about 10 minutes to get to Taunton town centre and the library is a 2 minute walk from the bus stop. You can find details of the park and ride services at:
